The primary hard disk where operating system was loaded should be 15-20% free to run smoothly incase of Windows OS; however that should be more than 30% free in case of Macintosh OS. Here I’ve explained the basic functions in step by step to make your PC run faster:

1. Remove or Uninstall programs which are rarely usable or needless to you. Some programs or applications we may use certainly, once in a year or half yearly. Keep the original application or software in an empty drive and uninstall the program or application completely from the system. For uninstalling programs go to control panel, there you’ll get an option as ‘Add/Remove Program’; with this option you can choose the application and remove it from your system completely. After removing completely from the system; once restart your system and check from your program files and make sure of proper deletion.

2. Emptying your Recycle Bin, temporary files and recent files also build up your system or make your PC faster. Close all the applications and open the recycle bin or right click on it and click ‘empty recycle bin’ option. Next click ‘Run’ option in the start menu and write in the box as ‘%temp%’ and press enter; then select all by Ctrl + A button and press Shift + Del key to delete all the temporary files permanently. Then, in the Run command box, type as ‘Recent’ and press enter; then select all by Ctrl + A and press Shift + Del to delete all the recent opened files.

3. Other than this you can delete all the temporary, recent and unused files from the system from the Disk Cleanup option; which is available in ‘System Tools’ under ‘Accessories’ Menu under Start Menu. Otherwise, open your My Computer window; there right click on the drive that you want to clean up. After right clicking on the drive, click on ‘Properties’ menu where you’ll find Disk Cleanup option. There you need to select or check all the options except for the game and system files; and click Ok to clean the drive. This performance is very useful and makes your PC faster than earlier.

4. Right click on the ‘My Computer’ logo in your desktop; click on ‘Manage’ option. Then extort the ‘Event Viewer’ option under System Tools option; you’ll see some other options under that, such as Application, Internet Explorer, Security, System etc. Click on each to view the items and right click on every option and click ‘Clear All Events’ and select ‘No’ option to not to save the items. The procedures are same but little bit delayed in OS Windows 7. While clearing the events if you clicked on ‘New Log View’ button, a duplicate event will create there; delete that immediately with the cross button.

5. Disk Defragmenter option is available in System Tools under Accessories option under Start Menu. It is a process where the complete hard disk space will defragment or assign separately with fragmented files, contagious files, unmovable files and free space avail in the chosen disk. Restart the computer and check whether it makes you PC faster than earlier or not?
